Through a new website and social accounts on Facebook and Twitter, the Nielsen Foundation will communicate about its programs and grantee organizations, including two signature programs: the TechDiversity Accelerator in collaboration with Tampa Bay Wave, and the Discover Data program in collaboration with Discovery Education and the Afterschool Alliance.

The Foundation was established in November 2015 and began grant-making in 2016. From 2016 through 2018, the Foundation distributed $3.1 million in grant funding across the priority areas of hunger and nutrition, education, and diversity and inclusion. These grants included 12 Data for Good grants, which award funding to organizations that use data in innovative ways to improve their programming and outcomes.
