Tops de 2016 : Livres

1 minute read | December 2016

With an endless stream of entertainment from movies to video games (not to mention an interesting political season), how did the oldest form of entertainment—the book—fare this year?

In 2016, children’s books remained popular with young readers and adults alike. In fact, consumers are still bewitched by Harry Potter, as Harry Potter and the Cursed Child topped both the overall print and children’s print books lists with over 4 million units sold through the end of November, and the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them screenplay selling 100,000 copies its first week on sale.

Readers also gravitated toward books with movie tie-ins, some of which helped bolster interest in books published before their 2016 movie premieres, such as The Girl on the Train, Me Before You et Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
