Nov. 06, 2020 – Nielsen has been recognised for the fifth consecutive year in 2020 as one of the 100 Best Companies for Women in India for its continuous efforts on gender inclusion in the workplace.

Touted to be one of the most prestigious recognition for diversity and inclusion in India by The Working Mother Research Institute and AVTAR, this achievement positions Nielsen among select 100 companies that are featured in the ‘Hall of Fame’. This year, 321 companies participated in the fifth successive edition of the Best Companies for Women in India (BCWI) study which was conducted by Avtar and Working Mother Media. Participating companies were assessed across various benchmarks, such as workforce profile, recruitment practices, retention and advancement, benefits, safety and security, and management accountability.

Nitya Bhalla, Product Design Leader, Asia who leads Women In India (WIN) initiative in India, said “This is great news for Nielsen, and once again, we have a distinguished position as the flag bearer for a diverse workplace that offers flexibility and benefits to support women in their career journey. Every employee of Nielsen has an equal opportunity to thrive in our culture and develop from our mentoring programs. As a champion for WIN in India, I am encouraged to see the results of our programs aimed at building a truly promising future ahead of us.”

“Amid the pandemic, we continue to prioritise our employees’ safety and mental well-being as we maintain our top quality and service standard for our clients,” said Mahipal Nair, People Development and Operations Leader, Africa, India, Middle East (AIM) region, Nielsen. “Considering the demanding role of women at work and home, we have made efforts to ensure full support and flexibility to assist them in work-life balance. I strongly believe that our compliance mechanisms and benefits assure our employees the peace of mind to work openly, think differently, and stay ahead of the curve.”
