5 minute read | February 2018

Weโ€™re excited to announce that Nielsen was honored today with both Bronze Class and Industry Mover awards in RobecoSAMโ€™s annual โ€œSustainability Yearbookโ€ for 2018, marking our third sustainability recognition in the last 12 months. We were also honored to be included on Forbes and JUST Capitalโ€™s 2017 โ€œJUST 100โ€ rankings and in the 2017 Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI).

โ€œI congratulate Nielsen wholeheartedly for being awarded a Bronze Class medal and recognized as an Industry Mover in The Sustainability Yearbook 2018,โ€ said Aris Prepoudis, CEO, RobecoSAM. โ€œThe companies included in the Yearbook are the worldโ€™s most sustainable companies in their industry and are moving the ESG [environmental, social, governance] needle in ways that will help us realize the UNโ€™s Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.โ€

Since 2004, The Sustainability Yearbook has listed the worldโ€™s most sustainable companies in each industry as determined by their score in RobecoSAMโ€™s annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). The CSA is an annual evaluation of companiesโ€™ sustainability practices, covering over 3,400 listed companies around the world and more than 600 data points per company focusing on economic, environmental and social factors that are relevant to the companiesโ€™ success.

The CSA for Professional Services companies focused on the areas most important to ensuring sustained business success for companies in this industry category, areas including human capital development, talent attraction and retention, and high standards for integrity and ethical conduct. On the 2017 CSA, Nielsen scored in the 100th percentile of all Professional Services companies for Risk and Crisis Management, and in the 87th percentile for Human Capital Development.

โ€œWeโ€™re proud of this further recognition of our efforts to drive continuous improvement across all aspects of our global business and our top ESG issues,โ€ said Crystal Barnes, SVP, Global Responsibility & Sustainability, Nielsen. โ€œWeโ€™re committed to continuing to work with all our stakeholders in driving further progress over the years to come.โ€
