Nielsen’s presence at this year’s Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s (CBCF’s) Annual Legislative Conference in September served as the backdrop for the release of our seventh report on African-American consumers, ‘African-American Women: Our Science, Her Magic.’ For six of the past seven years, we have released our annual Diverse Intelligence Series report during a press conference at the event in Washington, D.C. This year, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) was our featured guest.

In addition, Lamont Robinson, VP of Supplier Diversity for Nielsen, spoke at a brunch hosted by the Checkered Flag Run Foundation as part of the conference. The brunch focused on the role global corporations play in supporting veteran-owned enterprises in the U.S. The brunch also served as a kickoff for HeroZona, a weeklong celebration for America’s military veterans in Phoenix. During HeroZona, Nielsen, in collaboration with the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA), hosted a two-day veteran-owned business expo designed to increase business networking and contracting opportunities for veteran-owned businesses with corporate buyers, government entities and business owners.
