1 million extra people visited a financial news site in June, 2015 News.com.au retained top spot in Current Events & Global News rankings – top 5 remained unchanged
Sydney, Australia โ 13 July 2015: News.com.au retained the top spot for the eighth straight month in the latest online results from Nielsen. The top five players in theย Current Events & Global Newsย category by unique audience remained unchanged, but there were shifts in rankings for the next big five.

Digital Australians reinforced their appetite for financial related news information with an additional 1 million people visiting a site in the Financial News & Information sub-category in June, 2015 compared to the same period last year (+23%).

Drivers of growth for the Financial News & Information sub-category came from news.com.au โ Finance with an additional 278,000 unique audiences to their site in June, 2015 compared to the prior year (+23%), followed by smh.com.au โ Business with an additional 252,000 (+31%) and ASX โ Australian Stock Exchange attracted an additional 245,000 unique users to their site in June, 2015 compared to the prior year (+70%).ย
