Final Night of 2024 Democratic National Convention Attracts Over 26 Million Viewers

NEW YORK August 23, 2024 An estimated 26.2 million viewers watched the fourth and final night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention on Thursday, August 22, according to Nielsen. The event aired from approximately 9:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. ET across 15 television networks reported by Nielsen, with varied coverage televised on each.

The four-day convention closed with a speech by Kamala Harris as she formally accepted the Democratic presidential nomination. The speech aired from approximately 10:31 p.m. to 11:11 p.m. ET, and averaged 28.9 million viewers during that time.

The tables below show the total average viewership of the event aggregated across measured networks. The data is inclusive of U.S. audiences only.
